wings42 v3

This is the self-made keyboard kit wings42 v3.

I wanted to use LOFREE's Ghost switch, so I added support for Choc v2.
Choc v1 has many narrow pitch keycaps (17x18mm), but Choc v2 has few narrow pitch keycaps, so it will be smoothest to use Gravity Keycaps MX .

If you are assembling with Choc v1, please consider this as v2 is still on sale.

※This product is an assembly kit that requires soldering.
Please read the build guide carefully and understand the necessary tools and procedures before purchasing.

Changes in v3

・Choc v1, v2 compatible
To accommodate the LOFREE switch, the shape of the top plate has been partially modified
To support Choc v2, change the middle plate shape and quantity
When using Choc v2, change the screw from 7mm to 8mm

An important note to note is that wings42 has a narrow pitch (about 17 mm in height x 18 mm in width), so we have only confirmed its operation with Gravity Keycaps MX so far. Please note that even if it is compatible with Choc V2, 19x19mm size keycaps will interfere.

How to assemble

With separate left and right independent boards, it is less likely for mistakes to occur such as attaching parts in reverse.
・Key switch socket is not supported (soldering directly to the key switch)
・It will be a surface mount diode
・Chrome or Edge browser is required to write firmware (not available on iOS and Android)

The keycaps must be compatible with Choc v2 and narrow pitch (17mm x 18mm). Please note that we have currently only confirmed operation with Gravity Keycaps MX.

When using the Choc v1 switch

・Key switches for Choc v1 : 42 pieces
・Keycaps for Choc v1 : 42 pieces or Gravity Keycaps Choc

silent form

A dedicated silent foam is also available (sold separately).
Please try it if you want a quieter keystroke sound.

Notes

If you spray alcohol on acrylic plates, chemical cracks will occur and they will break easily. Please be careful when using alcohol.
